Labrador West is a multicultural region, welcoming many cultures. Over the past number of years, the Filipino community has grown, initially due to the boom in the labour market. Since then, many have chosen to make Labrador West a permanent home.
The region also boasts a fairly large Aboriginal population comprised mainly of Inuit, Innu and Mi’kmaq. An Aboriginal Service Centre, run by NunatuKavut Community Council, provides programs and services for all Aboriginal people living in the area.
