Social Design Workshop
On

This workshop will help guide the development of the new
Individualized Funding Policy
for people throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.

What’s Social Design?
Social Design is a new way of doing things. It involves working together to discover what supports and services individuals with a disability truly want and need, and then building the policy from there, as opposed to a policy being developed out of the hands of the people who are most affected by it.

What’s Individualized Funding?
In 2016, the Minister of Children, Seniors and Social Development announced that the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador would be implementing Individualized funding by 2018. This was great news. Individualized Funding is a new way of delivering disability supports. It offers much more individual choice, and focuses on what the person wants or needs. It’s flexible, and puts the person receiving the supports in control!

This is such an exciting opportunity, and we would like you to be part of it.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Association for Community Living
And the
Coalition of Persons with Disabilities
Will be hosting Social Design for Individualized Funding sessions:

• September 15th 8:30-3:00 – Gander
• September 19th 8:30-3:00 – Deer Lake
• September 22nd 8:30-3:00 – Labrador City
• October 5th 8:30-3:00 – Conception Bay North
• October 24th 9:00-4:00 – St. John’s

We would very much like it if you could join us at the location closest to you.
Please let us know if you are able to attend as soon as possible by emailing info@nlacl.ca or calling 722-0790.

We’re also going to be holding Information Sessions on Individualized Funding on the day before each of the dates of the Social Design Workshops.
If you are interested in attending both the Information Session and the Design Lab, please let us know.
