Social Design Workshop

This workshop will help guide the development of the new Individualized Funding Policy for people throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.

What’s Social Design?
Social Design is a new way of doing things. It involves working together to discover what supports and services individuals with a disability truly want and need, and then building the policy from there, as opposed to a policy being developed out of the hands of the people who are most affected by it.

What’s Individualized Funding?
In 2016, the Minister of Children, Seniors and Social Development announced that the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador would be implementing Individualized funding by 2018. This was great news. Individualized Funding is a new way of delivering disability supports. It offers much more individual choice, and focuses on what the person wants or needs. It’s flexible, and puts the person receiving the supports in control!

This is such an exciting opportunity, and we would like you to be part of it.
