Municipal animal control refers to the local government services responsible for managing animal-related issues in the community. This includes enforcing animal laws, handling stray and dangerous animals, and promoting responsible pet ownership.
Animal offers a variety of services, including:
- Responding to reports of stray or dangerous animals
- Enforcing local animal laws and ordinances
- Holding lost and found pets until claimed by owner
- Providing education on responsible pet ownership and animal welfare
If you find a lost pet, check for identification tags. If the pet has a microchip, take it to a veterinarian to scan for information. You can also report the found pet to animal control by calling 944-2621 Monday – Friday from 8 am – 4 pm. After hours, please call 944-7832. You could also post about it on community boards or social media.
Every person who is served with a notice of violation may, within fourteen (14) days of the time when such notice was served, pay at the town hall the sum of $125.00

- Dog license fee $100 (spayed/neutered $10)
