The Town of Labrador City is committed to creating a more inclusive and accessible community for all residents. Through the Accessibility Plan Development Project, the Town is working to identify barriers and implement long-term improvements in municipal services, infrastructure, and communications. This project aligns with Newfoundland and Labrador’s Accessibility Act and ensures the Town is working toward a barrier-free environment by 2026.

Labrador City has officially launched its Accessibility Plan Development Project. The Town will be consulting with community members, service providers, and staff to identify existing accessibility barriers and propose meaningful solutions.

Community Engagement Launch
Public engagement efforts have begun, including surveys, interviews, and community meetings to gather feedback on current barriers and ideas for improvement.
Plan Development Phase
Consultations with stakeholders and research are underway. The Town is drafting the accessibility plan in alignment with provincial legislation and community feedback.
Draft Plan Review & Finalization
A draft version of the Accessibility Plan will be released for public review, followed by updates and formal adoption.
