Kenneth Lawlor has been a resident of Labrador City for 50 plus years. He moved here as a child in August 1963. His wife Donna (a proud resident since 1981) works at the local hospital as a medical laboratory assistant. They have raised five children in Labrador City: four have moved to Ontario for work; Rachelle, Calandra, Gannon and Dorinda: one daughter Sabrina lives here and works at IOC. Kenneth & Donna are also proud first time grandparents.
Kenneth has a strong history of volunteerism: coaching track and field, cross country skiing (jackrabbit program), minor softball, beaver and cub leader, local school councils, Labrador School Board, and USW 5795 committee member. He is also presently on the Local 5795 negotiation team for 2018 (3rd time).
Kenneth still works at IOC as a journey-person electrician (42 years and counting) Labrador City is their home. It is a great place to raise a family with many programs for the residents. Kenneth hopes this never changes and the needs of all its citizens are addressed.
